HEAR FROM OUR PAST FELLOWS

“My time at HaloHealth has been a career defining moment for myself. Coming out of academia, I wanted to apply my scientific background to real world problems and HaloHealth gave me the opportunity to do so. Participating in screening calls and conducting due diligence helped me learn more about start-ups and the venture capital space than I could have ever imagined.

As a fellow, I used my scientific background to help influence the future of healthcare companies through the screening of promising start-ups.  I leveraged my experience as a fellow into a position as a health equity research associate where I continue to use my scientific background within the biotech industry. The fellowship program is the best way to explore the intersection of science and business while putting the phrase bench to bedside into perspective .”

— GIREESH SEESANKAR, MSc

HEALTHCARE EQUITY RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, BLOOM BURTON & CO.

“Being a fellow with HaloHealth provided me the opportunities to apply the skills I developed during my MBA, leverage my previous experience as a clinical researcher, and continue my growth as a business leader. I was able to conduct strategic analysis on the fit with HaloHealth and startups on pitch calls and working closely with founders as a Venture Manager once they joined the HaloHealth network.

This experience was a perfect transition into my current role as a Consulting with the Mergers & Acquisitions team at Deloitte Canada. The M&A Consulting practice provides services throughout the entire M&A lifecycle, from strategy & operational readiness to diligence and closing activities, through to post-close merger/separation support and management.”

— MANDEEP DHILLON, MBA

Jeffrey Petroff.png

“I am currently working as an Operations Manager at ProPlayAI - an early stage biomechanics startup that delivers high-quality movement analysis using the camera from a smartphone. HaloHealth helped prepare me for this role because I learned about the inner workings of the venture capital/angel investing world and the ways that startups can secure both non-dilutive and dilutive funding. Being a fellow on screening calls was a great learning experience, as I was able to identify the strategies that dozens of startups have used to grow their businesses and set themselves up for future success while also hearing my fellow colleagues' assessments of the startups that presented. While organizing the Live Event Series and working directly with venture founders, I developed the communication, organization, and presentation skills that will benefit me as I look to secure funding for ProPlayAI in the future.”

— JEFFREY PETROFF, MBA

OPERATIONS MANAGER, PROPLAYAI
